Cruiser Command

Cruiser command is a cooperative map between two teams. Simply put, each team controls one battlecruiser and the goal is to kill the opponent's battlecruiser.

This is a suggestion I got yesterday:

Reduce Minelayer upgrades from 5 to 3 and increase damage from 20% to 30%. In addition, make each upgrade tier locked, so upgrade 1 requires tier 1 and so on.

Reducing levels from 5 to 3 is okay,
but raising the gain from 20% to 30% is not.

As it currently stands, maximizing minelayer upgrades is very costly but also very effective. Killing miners and wraiths with 2 hits.
I am highly skeptical of keeping it near the current late-game levels (90% bonus instead of 100%), while cutting the cost by half.

I'd rather keep it at 20% damage bonus while lowering the available upgrade levels.
We still don't have an effective anti-mines ability (Minesweeper on Subjugator please), so it's already hard enough to deal with mines as it is.

If we had one, mines could be buffed. (Like Dreadnought's proposal suggests)

I think it's good that late-game the mine-layers destroy wraiths and miners.. those are early game ships and should be destroyed late-game, but I agree with more late-game counters to them - perhaps make the corvette have an ability that makes it's shots slightly homing ( similar to dessy) such that it can sweep them out as well

In my opinion less upgrades means less time spent on the upgrades console and more time doing other fun things. So i agree that we should reduce the amount of minelayer upgrades, but im unsure if we should flat out nerf the damage potential as well.
