Cruiser Command

Cruiser command is a cooperative map between two teams. Simply put, each team controls one battlecruiser and the goal is to kill the opponent's battlecruiser.

Might I suggest being able to quickly switch between weapon types, i.e. lasers/kinetics/ion?

and no, there really shouldn't be a default "always go to this weapon and win" - kinetics are still awesome vs small ships, especially due to the tracking (they really do need some scaling damage upgrades though)

Takes one second to switch between weapons (a long while ago it was 5 seconds, but you could still fire your weapon while switching)

At level 5 lasers do more damage to the hull then kinetics, not to mention faster...if the tracking was better (Like Patch 1.X level tracking) then I might take Kinetics...

so.. lets add more levels of damage to kinetics and make it not take any time to switch weapons? it's not like the wraith has to switch from EMP to lasers..

Reviving old topics again! :D

What if we just made the Ion Cannon an alternative to the Yamato Cannon?
Proposed effects:
One-time use, can be loaded in the Science/Weapons console like the Yamato
Costs :b: :y: , and maybe :g:
Shuts down power using effects for 1-5 seconds (ex. Engine Boost, Warp, Iron Curtain, Power Transfer, ect.)
Shuts down shield regeneration for 1-5 seconds
Does 0/500 damage
Drains 5000 energy

#1 reason I don't want an alternate Yamato -- takes away identity.

The Yamato Cannon is the big bad cool super shot from the BC! It's THE super charged weapon!

Nothing should change that.
