In the latest (4.12) beta.

I tried a game, and set ai to miners.
On its own, the ai orders were switched to mine NOTHING, and by extension they remained in miners but sent back no minerals because they were mining.

"sent back no minerals because they were mining"

Were they mining or not? Was it sending back cargo drones?

I wasn't able to reproduce it.

The AI miner has difficulties when the map wrap (anomaly) is taken out. They tend to ram into the edge of the screen getting nowhere, and are very easy to pick off with wraiths and other combat ships.
